Services

We use various modalities to both align and keep your body and spirit in balance. Your acupuncture treatment will integrate Japanese Acupuncture, traditional Chinese acupuncture and if necessary some trigger point therapy, therapeutic massage, cupping, Gua Sha, and/or e-stim as well. As a progressive Acupuncturist, we believe in nurturing rather than battling against the body.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique of inserting very thin needles at strategic points on the body. It has been used in China for thousands of years for treating various diseases and conditions. Modern research demonstrates that the ancient science of Acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system to create biochemical changes in the body. This activates our body’s natural healing ability so it can effectively fight disease, maintain good health and slow the aging process. Because acupuncture stimulates the releases of endorphins, most patients report a general feeling of well being.

Some of the benefits of Acupuncture include:

  • DECREASED INFLAMMATION

  • REGULATION OF HORMONES

  • ENHANCED CIRCULATION

  • IMPROVED DIGESTION

  • DRUG FREE PAIN RELIEF

  • ACCELERATED TISSUE HEALING

  • IMPROVED SLEEP

  • EMOTIONAL RELAXATION

  • DECREASED STRESS RESPONSE

  • INCREASED ENERGY LEVELS

  • IMPROVED OVERALL MOOD

Cupping Therapy

Cupping and

Gua Sha

Cupping is the application of a glass or plastic cup on the skin to create a vacuum and gently pulls the skin and connective tissue (fascia) up.

It is a technique used to relieve muscular pain, decrease muscle tension and promote circulation.

Gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and gentlely scrape the skin to relieve pain and tension. It causes light bruising, which appears as purple or red spots known as petechiae or sha.

Benefits of Cupping and Gua Sha:

  • ACCELERATES TISSUE REPAIR

  • RELIEVES PAIN

  • PROMOTES CIRCULATION

  • REDUCES MUSCLE TENSION

  • DETOXIFIES THE BODY

  • REDUCES SPASMS & CRAMPING

  • IMPROVES LYMPHATIC FLOW

Electro-acupuncture

Electro acupuncture or e-stim are needles attached to a device that sends electrical currents or pulses into the body. Electrical currents have stimulating effects, which can influence the cells, tissues and entire systems. It is very efficient for post-trauma muscular treatment or sports injuries.

Benefits of Electro-Acupuncture.

Benefits of Ear Acupuncture :

  • CHRONIC PAIN RELIEF

  • IMPROVES SLEEP

  • MIGRAINE RELIEF

  • IMPROVES ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

  • NAUSEA AND DIGESTIVE SUPPORT

  • REDUCES STRESS HORMONES

Dry Needling : Trigger Point Technique

Dry needling is a type of acupuncture that utilizes thin, solid filament needles to deactivate and desensitize trigger points in muscles. Myofascial trigger points are knots in muscles that can contribute to pain, decreased flexibility and decreased muscle function. There is no solution injected and the needle used is very thin.

fine needles are inserted in the muscles at the trigger points causing the pain referral. The muscles then reflexively contract and then release, improving the flexibility of the muscle and decreasing symptoms. Functional dry needling treats these trigger points to release them and allow the muscle to heal.

targets specific areas in muscle tissue. The needles are used to release tight bands known as “knots”. The needles can also be used to reset a dysfunctioning nerve to strengthen muscle.

Benefit of Dry Needling:

Acute and chronic injuries

Headaches

Neck and back pain

Tendinitis

Muscle spasms

Sciatica

Hip and knee pain

Muscle strains

Fibromyalgia

Elbow pain

PFPS (Runner's Knee)

Overuse injuries

The Physiological effect of dry needling on muscles:

  • Decrease in the amount of spontaneous electrical activity generated by the treated muscles

  • Decrease of the length-tension of the muscle fibers

  • Increased blood flow and oxygenation

  • Decrease in pain, triggered by a decrease in both SP (substance P) and CGRP (Calcitonin gene-related peptide)

  • Hyperstimulation analgesia: the stimulation of both large myelinated fibers (i.e., Aβ-and Aδ-fibers), as well as C-fibers, achieved indirectly via the release of inflammatory mediators

Cosmetic Acupuncture/ Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Beauty from health without chemical injection.

Beauty, from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, is a reflection of inner health and balance. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a safe and natural approach to slow the signs of aging and treat other facial conditions.

The insertion of very fine needles causes "microtrauma" to the local tissue, signaling the body to increase blood flow to the area to heal. Our treatments result in an increase in the good stuff our skin needs to be healthy and look youthful - collagen, elastin and lymph.

As Acupuncturists, we address your whole body’s health in every treatment. Therefore, we include points on limbs to address the underlying causes of aging or other facial conditions.

Microneedling and Nanoneedling:

Both micro and nano needling move blood, qi, and interstitial fluid to the area of treatment. Much like acupuncture, this causes the body to send its own resources to repair it. In the face, this repair can be seen almost immediately post-treatment through the brightening of Shen or glow. In Western biomedical terms, the body is beginning its inflammatory response to put down new stem cells, collagen, and elastin through the microchannels we create.
